First time I set my foot in the door at Elbows I couldn't help but go wide-eyed at the decor. It's just so perfectly charming throughout the year with a half-panel wall in wood, painted red.

They dried garlic and copper-pottery that holds everything from delicious croissants and pain au chocolates to home made lasagne and pies make for a beautiful storefront of the cafe.

When you arrive, regardless of the season, you can choose between three small tables outside the front or cushioned weaved chairs and wooden tables inside. All the tables have complementing colourful dried flowers and candles. A waitress always shows you directly, relaxed, to a table as she hands you the signature yellow Elbows menus - Here's where the fun starts!

As hard as it first may be to choose from the single-page menu they still do a large selection of breakfast: Poached or scrambled eggs, toast, smoked salmon, more traditional breakfasts are also available all throughout the day.

They offer toasted paninis and wraps, baked potato with choice of fillings from tuna to cheese to beans but fret not - The portion sizes are absolutely huge! I always eat well and after 8 months, now, since my first visit I'm a regular weather it's for the evening croissant and tea with a book or a lovely meal and atmosphere for a date. It's perfect!

With most meals you also get lots of salad, and I mean lots. Even if you're not a salad person you'll fall for the flavour combinations they always put on your plate. Be it grilled vegetables, rocket, spinach, plum tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, radishes, tastiest beet root or red onion - you are in for a treat!

The only thing I can say I have never tried is actually, surprisingly enough, their baked cakes (pastry such as croissants or pain au chocolates are a favourite!) and I'm not sure I ever will. Even though I have a such a sweet tooth, I am so addicted to everything else on the menu that it probably won't come around! I'll finish this rather praise-full review/account of my taste experiences at Elbow by confirming the words of three boys in their late teens at a outside table yesterday "Bloody Brilliant Coffee this!" And I must say, that I can't even fault the coffee... even though lately Ive gone for the tea!

Lovely and charming cafe with friendly service. I came in here after walking around Victoria Park. The decor is quite cosy and they have a mix of seating all inside- some towards the front of the restaurant and seating as well towards the back area which has a ton of natural light as it is in a different roof enclosure. What I was really impressed at was their attention to the smallest of details. I ordered a hot chocolate and almond and orange cake. Both served creatively with a small plate of fruit on the side. The lunches here looked great so will try that next time!

Quaint little cafe with outdoor seating.

A group of us popped in here for breakfast on Friday morning. We were shown to the small rear garden where the waitress helpfully set up an extra table so we could sit there.

The men in our group were disappointed that there was no full English breakfast option but I was pleased to find some healthy breakfast options.

Myself and my friend both had salmon and scrambled eggs whilst the fellas went for a mixture of ham and eggs, croissants and pain au chocolate. All the food was very nice and the waitress was attentive.

The menu looked like they had a nice selection of tasty healthy options but I don't think our male companions would want to come back as they missed their sausage and bacon.

Elbows has a wonderful back garden that my friends and I enjoyed a lovely afternoon and brunch  in.

Elbows was the only restaurant that would serve breakfast after 12:00.  The owner was extremely nice and presented us with incredibly fresh Chicken and Avocado and Prawn and Avocado salads.  Would definitely recommend.  Also, was dog friendly.  Staff was very courteous.

Looking at this place from the outside you don't get a sense that it extends much beyond the front espresso counter - nor does it give away how many people are tucked away in here, enjoying the homey coziness to be found within.  But if you walk past the front counter showcasing all of Elbows' daily quiche and lasagna specials, as well as an array of stodgy-looking cakes, you'll the back room; a bright space with a smattering of tables, perfect for settling into on a relaxed Sunday afternoon.

There's a real level of warmth here.  The staff is friendly and familiar - you feel like they consider you a distant relative.  The food is remarkably priced - few things on the menu are much more than £5 - and everything comes furnished with an appropriate side... salad or bread or both.  The food is deli Italian... crispy panini and rustic lasagna with a definite homemade quality. The produce used is always fresh and feels healthy.

Their espresso drinks are also particularly good... if you order a latte you'll get something different than if you order a cappuccino - they rare hallmark of a café that actually knows what they're doing in this regard.  And definitely order a large!  For a £1 more the mugs are more than twice the size... and trust me, after tasting your impeccably put together cappuccino, you'll be glad that there's more, rather than less, for you to enjoy.
